Experience
I love to work with students on challenging topics, believing that respectfully pushing the limits of our shared knowledge and experience brings about intellectual growth. I have 4 years of teaching experience, as well as two years experience as a US government intelligence professional concerning hostage cases around the world. My sessions are $35 per hour, or $60 for two hours of instruction. It is a pleasure tutoring, especially when the best student-tutor relationships are built on shared passions and the respect that comes from working in a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. Most kids already have the seeds of learning success planted, they just need a helping hand along the way. I get excited supporting students on their path and sharing what I've learned about working in Washington D.C. and elsewhere with my students. I have lived abroad for years, and enjoy critical thinking and analysis, current events, and history/world politics as well as creative writing. Please let me know when contacting me whether instructional materials will be provided or whether I shall bring my own.
