I am a graduate of the City University of New York - Lehman College, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. My native language is French and it is one of the subjects that I wish to tutor. I have had the opportunity to conduct scientific research projects and to present my work at several conferences across the nation. My interest for the sciences has also led me to attend many conferences, as well. I have been a very successful tutor in math and science with both high school and college students. My experience in tutoring dates back to 2005. I have found that it is best to begin working with students by first assessing their base of knowledge in a subject, which allows any information that is missing to be filled in to complete their understanding of the topic and provide a solid base to support their future learning. I engage my students by encouraging them to be involved and focused in the lessons through questions. This process also allows me to connect with the student and to understand how I can best communicate with them, which is one of the keys to sparking interest in a topic and helping them to perform to their best ability.
